BUCKHANNON, WV (March 8, 2025) - Georgian Court Baseball was seeking their second straight win, but came up short to West Virginia Wesleyan. The Bobcats used a pair of three-run innings to help fuel an 8-2 win.
How it Happened
• WVW totaled 11 hits while the Lions punched eight.
• GCU tried to be aggressive on the basepaths, but were just 1-4 in stolen base attempts.
• Lion pitchers walked five and struck out two. GCU batters walked twice and struck out six times.
• The Lions got on the board first with a first-inning run.
Carter Rieben was hit by a pitch and scored on
Alex Elliott's single.
• Georgian Court kept the Bobcats off the scoreboard until the fourth. They scored three times in the inning without a run-scoring hit.
• A
Larry Rodriguez RBI ground out cut the lead in half, 4-2 in the fifth.
• West Virginia Wesleyan put the game away scoring in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. The last three came on RBI singles to plate runs and they went on to win 8-2.
