CALDWELL, NJ (April 14, 2025) - Georgian Court finally got their series with Caldwell started Monday afternoon. Originally scheduled for Friday and Monday, then shifted to Monday and Wednesday, GCU split the first doubleheader on the road. Both games were decided by just one run with GCU winning game one, 7-6, before dropping the second, 4-3.

Game 1 - Georgian Court 7, Caldwell 6
How it Happened
• Game one saw plenty of hits and run. Georgian Court knocked 11 hits to score seven times. Caldwell collected six runs and 10 hits.
• Georgian Court made a pair of errors allowing one unearned run to score.
• There were plenty of balls put in play with just five total walks and five total strikeouts.
• GCU hit two doubles while Caldwell had just one extra-base hit, a triple.
• The Cougars love to run the bases and stole seven of them.
• Caldwell broke a scoreless tie in the third. Back-to-back one-out singles put runners on the corners, and the Cougars executed a double steal to score the first run of the game.
• A line drive got the Lions through the inning though with just one run scored.
• The Cougars tacked on in the fourth with a lead off single followed by a triple to score one run. Brown, who tripled, was still on third following back-to-back strikeouts, but a two-out single made it a 3-0 game.
• The Lions responded with a big time two out rally in the fifth. With two out and two on, Georgian Court got the next four batters to all reach. Oliver Santana and Frank Marra both had RBI hits and four came in in the inning and Georgian Court took their first lead, 4-3.
• Caldwell retook the lead in the sixth. A two-run infield single plated a pair and put the Cougars back on top 5-4.
• In the seventh, Frank Marra's RBI single tied the score at five, but a balk in the home half of the inning put Caldwell back on top, 6-5.
• Jack Greenspan started the eighth with a double and scored with a one-out Joshua Moreno single.
• With two outs, Oliver Santana broke the tie with a single to right.
• The Cougars got a runner on in the eighth and two in the ninth, but Joseph Voli escaped both jams with the lead and the win.
