Georgian Court Baseball Played Senior Day at ShoreTown BallPark

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 19, 2025) - Georgian Court Baseball celebrated senior day Saturday at ShoreTown BallPark home of the Jersey Shore Blue Claws. Following those festivities, GCU played a doubleheader with Felician, that ended in two Golden Falcon wins. 

Game 1 - Felician 16, Georgian Court 1 - 7 Innings
How it Happened

• Felician pounded 11 hits to score 16 runs. They clubbed eight extra-base hits.
• Georgian Court totaled just four hits, all singles.
• The Lions made two errors in the field leading to one unearned run.
• GCU pitchers walked six and struck out just one. Their hitters walked just one and struck out nine times in seven innings. 
• Felician struck first, as a two-out soft line drive fell just past the outstretched glove of Oliver Santana and into center for a 1-0 lead.
Larry Rodriguez tied the game in the second. Alex Elliott led off getting hit by a pitch and came in to score on Rodriguez's bloop single.
• Felician found their power stroke in the third. They hit three extra-base hits in the inning, two doubles and a triple, and all three runs scored for a 4-1 lead.
• The Golden Falcons struck again in the fifth. Haiden Walters led off the inning going deep to right on a 3-2 pitch.
• Felician blew the game open in the sixth. They scored eight runs in the inning as the first 10 batters of the inning all reached. 
• There were only two hits in that eight run frame. There were five walks and two hit by a pitch. Chris Corchado had the biggest hit in the inning, a grand slam to make it 13-1 when all was said and done.
• The Golden Falcons tacked on three more in the seventh. Two more run-scoring doubles plated the three runs.

Lion Stat Leaders
Alex Elliott reached base twice and scored a run.
Larry Rodriguez drove in the Lions only run with a single.
Daniel Atiles had a pinch hit single.
Oliver Santana finished 1-3. 

For the Golden Falcons
• Jaxon Wall had three hits and scored three times while driving in two.
• Chris Corchado hit the grand slam as part of a 2-4 day with five RBI.
• Luis DeLaCruz doubled and drove in two while also scoring twice.
• Max Weber got the win throwing the first five and allow a run on one hit with seven strikeouts. 
• Haiden Walters homered and finished 2-5.

Game Two - Felician 18, Georgian Court 2
How it Happened

• The Felician offense scored 18 run on 17 hits, eight extra-base hits.
• GCU scattered five hits to score two runs.
• Georigan Court made three errors in the field, but none led to unearned runs. Felician played a clean game defensively.
• Felician threatened in the second. They put the first two on, but Brady Parks got a ground ball and two strikeouts to end the inning unscathed.
• They broke a scoreless tie in the third though. A leadoff walk came in to score on an infield single. Could have been more but JP Mahoney took a hit away from Anthony Lamar with a running catch in left to end the inning.
• The Golden Falcons then broke it open in the fourth scoring six runs on five hits. They scored single runs in four straight at bats.
• Lost in the inning was another outstanding catch in left field from JP Mahoney who was full extension to rob Haiden Walters of at least a single.
• A two-out two RBI single from a pinch hitting Jaylen Bruno got Georgian Court on the board. He brought in Carter Rieben and Alex Elliott to make it a 7-2 game.
• Felician responded with a four-run fifth. The inning started with a triple and three hits later, including another double, it was an 11-2 lead.
• The crooked numbers continued to accrue for Felician. They put up another five spot to go up 16-2. 
• Haiden Walters the big hit of the inning, a grand slam, the Golden Falcons second grand slam of the day. 
• Felician didn't slow down in the seventh and scored two more to get to their 18-run total and the 18-2 final score.

Lion Stat Leaders
Carter Rieben singled twice and scored.
Alex Elliott finished 2-3 with a run.
Jaylen Bruno singled and drove in two runs.

For the Golden Falcons
• Nathan Ruth started and went the first five innings allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts.
• Haiden Walters drove in seven runs hitting a grand slam.
• Matt Scrivanic was 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBI.
• Bryan Santana singled twice and doubled and scored a run.
• Rocko Brzezniak singled, doubled an drove in two.

News and Notes
Gabe Williams, who's been injured all season made his debut on senior day.  
• Weird play in the fourth inning of game two. While at the plate, Sammy Cruz made contact with a live ball near his feet and was called out.
• Prior to the game, GCU celebrated senior day where they honored their six seniors in their inaugural class, Caleb Carter, Sammy Cruz, Alex Elliott, Carter Rieben, Joseph Voli and Gabe Williams.
