Lions Drop Nonconference Battle to Bloomsburg

JACKSON, NJ (April 9, 2025) - Georgian Court Baseball played their second consecutive single non-conference game Wednesday afternoon. They took on Bloomsburg out of the PSAC. The Huskies scored at least three runs in three innings and went on to win 11-3.

How it Happened
• The Huskies totaled 11 runs on 10 hits.
• Each team had issues catching the ball. The Lions made six errors that led to four unearned runs. Bloomsburg committed two, but all three runs were earned.
• Georgian Court struck out 10 times in the game, while fanning just four.
• Bloomsburg loaded the bases in the first with one out, but Benjie Pabon was able to limit the damage. They got an RBI single to score a run, but that was all as Pabon got a strikeout and a flyout to end the inning.
• Georgian Court threatened in the second putting two in scoring position with two out, but were unable to bring in a run.
• The Huskies extended their lead in the third. An infield hit and a hit by pitch put two on for Mike Miller who deposited the first pitch he saw over the center field fence for a three-run home run and a 4-0 lead.
• GCU cut the lead in half in the bottom of the fourth. A two-out double beat the left fielder to score Israel Garcia and Larry Rodriguez.
• The Lions pieced together a run in the fifth. An infield single and three walks produced a run and brought GCU within one, 4-3.
• Bloomsburg made Georgian Court pay for a two-out error in the sixth. A dropped pop up extended the inning and following a walk to load the bases, a two-out singled plated a pair.
• The inning continued and a double and a throwing error brought in two more as the Huskies pushed the lead to 8-3.
• The Huskies increased their lead with three more in the seventh. Greg Cristino a two-out opposite field single plated a pair as the Huskies went on top 11-3 which was the final score.
