Men's Soccer Looks to Keep Rolling vs. Chestnut Hill

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Sept. 30, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Soccer is firing on all cylinders and look to keep the momentum going as they back into CACC play this week.

How to Watch
• Wednesday's game is available to watch via a free-to-view broadcast on the Georgian Court portal of the CACC Network, powered by HUDL. Live stats are also available on the Lions schedule page. 

Previously vs. Chestnut Hill
• Georgian Court has historically played well against Chestnut Hill. They've earned at least one point in 10-of-11 matches going 6-1-4 since 2013.
• The Lions four ties with the Griffons more than any other opponent in team history. 
• They started out with three straight two-overtime matches, one Lion win from 2013-15.
• Georgian Court won in Philadelphia last year, after ties in 2022 and 2023.
• Of the 11 matches, eight have been ties or decided by just one goal.
• After a pair of first-half goals from each side, it looked like last year's match might be headed for another draw.
Vitor Antelo though changed that hitting the game-winner in the 78th minute.
Gijs van Eif also scored. Mikey Mallon assisted on van Eif's goal and Oscar Jannesson on Antelo's. 

Last Time Out
• The offense came to life scoring eight goals last week, capped off with a 5-0 win at Daemen.
Gijs van Eif netted a hat trick against the Wildcats while Leo Elder and Mikey Mallon each scored.
• Mallon had a three-point day with a goal and an assist.
Ayendi Batista got the win in net pitching a shutout and added an assist.
• The Lions set records for the fastest to score two and three goals and most goals scored in a nonconference game. 

Individual Milestones
Mikey Mallon needs two points for 25. 
• Sotirios Gkosdis is 46 minutes away from having playing 2,000 in goal for the Lions and Ayendi Batista is 19 minutes away. 
Joseph Juarez's next game played will be his 40th. 
Gijs van Eif is one goal away from 25, something just two other Lions have ever done. 
David Tuschmann needs one more goal to reach 10 and two points for 25. 

CACC Stat Leaders
• Gijs van Eif is leading Division II in shots per game, 4.88 and shots on goal per game, 2.75.
• His six goals lead the league and are 10th in the nation. 
David Tuschmann is fifth in the CACC in assists. 
• The Lions offense is generating the most corner kicks per game in the CACC at 5.25.
• GCU is also third in shots per game and shots on goal per game. 
• Georgian Court's is fourth in total assists and fifth in total points and goals. 

Scheduling Quirk
• All season long the Lions don't play more than two straight games at home or more than two straight on the road.

CACC Awards
• For the first time in his career, Gijs van Eif was named the CACC Player of the Week.
• Van Eif scored five goals last week and now leads the league in goals scored.
• His hat trick against Daemen was just the seventh in the history of the program and he's the third Lion to ever record one.
• Van Eif is no stranger to CACC Awards. He was an All-CACC First Team selection in 2024. He earned a Rookie of the Week award in 2023. 

About Chestnut Hill
• It's been a mixed bag for Chestnut Hill in the early portion of their season.
• The Griffins are 4-3-1, 1-1-1 in the CACC. Aside from their tie, they've played just one one-goal game all season.
• They've played five games determined by three or more goals going 3-2 in those five games. With all of those goals scored, both ways, the Griffins are just a +1 in goal differential. 
• CHC has shared goaltending duties. Both are averaging around two goals allowed per game with a save percentage in the 70% range.
• Chestnut Hill's offense is leading the CACC in total goals with 18. They're also fourth in Division II in shot accuracy with 60% of their shots going on target. 
• Mohamed Bility is sharing the CACC lead in goals with Gijs van Eif at six. He has two assists for a league-best 14 points. 
• Abdoulaye Kamagate is at the top of the CACC in assists with five.
• The Griffins are near the top of the league in fewest fouls averaging 11.1 per game and their nine yellow cards are the fewest in the CACC.
