LAKEWOOD, NJ (Jan. 20, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball overcame a 10-point first half deficit and held a lead with less than a minute to play. It wasn't to be though as Wilmington's layup with 0.9 seconds to play broke a 66-66 tie as they snatched victory back from GCU, 68-66.

• Again Wilmington answered and maintained the lead. Tre Hawkins with back-to-back dunks meant the Wildcats were up 43-39.
• Right before the midway point in the half,
Jaycen Santucci gave the Lions their first lead since the game was 4-3. Following an
Amar Lane block, one of seven for him the game, Santucci grabbed the rebound and was off to the races finishing with a layup for a 44-43 Lions lead.
• That lead was short lived, but the teams took turns trading it back-and-forth.
• From 9:21 to 7:47, the lead changed on five consecutive possessions, ending with a three from Crawford to put GCU ahead 51-49.
• Neither team led by more than two points for more than nine minutes. Edmonds finally gave the Lions a three-point lead at the line with 2:55 left to play.
• After Lane went 2-2 at the line to bring the lead back to three, Wilmington made a basket, blocked a shot and made another layup to reclaim a 63-62 lead with 1:16 remaining.
• Santucci answered with a driving reverse layup for a 64-63 lead, but Adelphi transfer Justin Perez buried a three with 34 seconds left, the Wildcats only three in the half, for a 66-64 lead.
• On the Lions ensuing possession Edmonds got to the line and sank both free throws to tie the game.
• Still with 24 seconds left to play, the Lions defense looked to be holding strong until Jaiden Guy drove to the basket and his layup with 0.9 seconds left proved to be the game-winner, 68-66.
