WATERBURY, Conn. (Jan. 3, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball stepped onto the hardwood for the first time in 2026. They were on the road at Post for their first game in two weeks. The Lions had some rust for their first game back and struggled in a 104-72 loss to the Eagles. The loss ups the Lions losing streak to five straight and puts them 5-8 overall, 2-3 in the CACC.

How it Happened
• Post shot better than 50% from the floor for the game hitting 40-79.
• They were also deadly from three hitting 17-40.
• Georgian Court shot 36.4% overall and were 6-30 from deep.
• The Eagles held the edge on the glass with 49 rebounds to Georgian Court's 42.
• GCU lost the ball 17 times. That lead to 19 Post turnovers. The Lions scored 15 points from 12 Post giveaways.

1st Half
• Aside from a couple of ties, Georgian Court never led in the game.
• Post buried a three on the game's first possession and were off and running.
• GCU tied the game at seven and at 10 getting three-pointers from Cam Edmonds and Taheen Braswell-Brown.
• Post then ripped off nine straight points for a 19-10 lead and kept adding to it from there.
• Midway through the half, Post went up 16, as they extended their run to 20-4.
• Post got up by as much as 22, 41-19, with 6:48 to play in the half before the Lions offense found a bit of a spark.
• GCU went on an 11-2 run and cut the lead down to 13, 43-30. The Lions chipped away at the foul line where they scored six of their 11 points.
• The Eagles answered with a three and finished the half with a three before the buzzer to lead 52-34 at the break.

2nd Half
• The Lions showed some life coming out for the second half. Justin Soranno started it with a layup and a fast-break dunk to bring the Eagles lead down to 14.
• A jumper from Anthony Rivera made it a 12-point game and a 6-0 Lion run to start the second half.
• That was as close as they came though. Post got hot shortly after that hitting six-of-seven and four-of-five from three to push their lead back over 20.
• The Eagles lead never dipped back below 20 the rest of the way, though their offense didn't slow down, shooting 50% for the game and going on to a 104-72 win.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Cam Edmonds scored a team-best 18 points going 5-10 overall and 4-8 from behind the arc.
• Justin Soranno hit 6-9 from the floor for 14 points.
• Jaycen Santucci was in double-figures with 10 points and seven rebounds.
• Anthony Rivera dished out six assists and scored six points. 

For the Eagles
• Zion Lott was 10-20 and scored a game-high 26 points.
• Deng Akok had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
• Tre Duncan added 14 points while Derrick Thomas II scored 10 with eight boards. 

News and Notes
• This was the Lions first game back from the holiday break. Their last game played was Saturday, Dec. 19. 
• Justin Soranno scored his 200th career point.
• Yves Harris got into his first game as a Lion.
• The Lions 30 three-point attempts are their most in a game this season. 
• Georgian Court falls to 0-12 all-time against Post. This is the most points the Eagles have ever scored against GCU and their highest point total this season.
• Post had seven score at least 10 points.
