LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 19, 2026) - For the second year in a row, Georgian Court Men's Soccer hosted the CACC Men's Soccer Development Squad Tournament. The tournament took place Sunday afternoon between the Lions, Holy Family, Felician and Caldwell.
The tournament, played on the turf, was run with 60 minute games played back-to-back. First round games were decided at random with the winners playing for the tournament championship.
Georgian Court opened playing against Caldwell and Felician and Holy Family squared off in game two. The Lions were unable to defend their championship win from last year, falling to the Cougars, 3-0.
In game two, Felician fended off Holy Family to advance to the finals where Caldwell awaited.
Georgian Court and Holy Family played in the consolation game. GCU came back for a 2-1 win to finish the day 1-1.
In the Championship game between Felician and Caldwell, the Golden Falcons struck first with a penalty kick goal for a 1-0 lead. The lead stayed that way as Felician's goalkeeper then made a save on Caldwell PK. Felician scored again and looked to be headed towards a 2-0 victory. With roughly 10 minutes left to play, Caldwell cut the lead down to one, 2-1. Not long after, Felician put the game away with their second penalty kick goal of the game and captured the CACC Development Squad Championship with a 3-1 win.
Georgian Court has been the leader in growing the CACC Men's Soccer Development Squad programs. The Lions have maintained a strong development squad for more than a decade and helped provide guidance to other teams looking to build their own, now with four across the CACC. This is the second year of the CACC Development Squad Championship in what is becoming an annual fall tournament.Â
