Weather Report
• Conditions should be absolutely ideal for a midday race.
• Plenty of sunshine with temperatures in the upper 50s and a slight breeze.
Last Time Out
• It was a challenging afternoon for Georgian Court Cross Country last week at the Rowan Border Battle.
• The rain from the night before already left a soft terrain.
• Georgian Court also finally got on the course after a number of high school and college races, making tough sledding for the Lions.
• GCU persevered though as the women took second place and the men finished fifth.
• For the first time this season, GCU had new front runners.
Sophia Mauro led the Lions with a seventh place finish and
Richard Riopel paced the men, placing 10th.
CACC Award Winners
• For the first time this season, Georgian Court Freshman
Dori O'Halloran was named the CACC Rookie of the Week.
• O'Halloran finished in 11th place last week, running the 6K race in 27:03.8.
• She is the second Lion to win a CACC weekly award this season, joining Runner of the Week
Ryan Pettrow from early September.
About Bethpage Polo in the Park
• The course is located at Bethpage State Park.
• It is highly recommended to put "Bethpage Polo at the Park" in a GPS navagation system to be directed to the correct area of the park.
• The course itself starts on a wide grass field before transitioning into a wooded trail loop.
• The route also crossed paved biked paths.
• Spectators can view the start and finish from the polo field itself.
