Volleyball's Slide Continue With Loss to Post

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 3, 2026) - Georgian Court Volleyball hosted Post on Homecoming Saturday. It was the Eagles' first trip back to Lakewood since GCU defeated Post in the 2024 CACC Tournament Championship game. The Eagles got a small bit of revenge for that Saturday afternoon as they down the Lions in three, 25-15, 25-19, 25-20.

How it Happened
• The best thing Post did was not beat themselves. The Eagles hit .244 for the match, making just 11 attack errors.
• GCU had more than twice the attack errors at 23 and hit .090 overall.
• The Eagles defense was solid picking up 65 digs to the Lions 58. Blocks didn't play a big factor with the Eagles putting back one more, 4-3.
• On the serve, Post hit seven aces and four errors. The Lions had five errors to just three aces.
• Post had a sideout percentage greater than 50% in all three sets and better than 60% in two of the three. The Eagles were at 40% for two and above 50% just once in three sets.
Set 1
• Post scored the first point in the set and never trailed the rest of the way.
• The teams traded points at the outset, but the Lions were never able to get out in front.
• Tied at six, Post took the lead for good on a GCU attack error.
• It was still a one-point game, 12-11, when the Eagles really separated.
• Post finished the set on a 13-4 run to take a 1-0 lead with a 25-15 win.
• Georgian Court hit just nine kills and 10 errors to help out the Eagles.
Set 2
• Georgian Court took an early 4-1 lead in set two as they looked to tie the match.
• They led for a while until Post tied the set at nine. That came in the middle of a 7-0 Post run that saw them turn a 9-6 deficit into a 13-9 lead.
• The Eagles pushed the lead to as much as seven, 21-14, but the Lions had some fight left.
• GCU scored five straight to get back to within two, 21-19.
• A Lion attack error gave the ball back to Post and they scored the final three points in the set, finishing with back-to-back blocks to end it, 25-19.
Set 3
• The third set was the closest of the afternoon and featured seven ties and four lead changes.
• Post looked like they might cruise to a sweep, scoring seven of the first 10 points in the set.
• GCU didn't let that happen though and a 6-2 run tied the set at nine.
• Ava Churnesky's kill made it 10-9 and gave the Lions their first lead since 3-2.
• Still tied at 16, Post got a kill and a block for a two-point lead and never trailed again.
• Georgian Court trailed by one, 19-18, with service, but a serve error gave the Eagles the ball back and they scored twice more to extend the lead to four, 22-18.
• The Lions never recovered and though they had to work for it, Post got the sweep, 25-20.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Keira Mullen led the Lions with a game-high 11 kills and 15 digs.
