Lions Comeback Bid Falls Short at Dominican

ORANGEBURG, NY (Feb. 21, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball dug themselves quite an early hole, and even though they eventually took a second-half lead, they weren't able to hang on in a 74-63 loss to Dominican.

How it Happened
• Georgian Court finished the game shooting 30.3% overall. That was 10% lower than Dominican who shot 40.6% overall.
• Neither team shot well from three. Georgian Court was 6-26. Dominican meanwhile was just 1-13, 0-5 in the first half.
• The Lions hit 17-21 at the free throw line and Dominican made 21-28.
• There were plenty of rebounds to go around. GCU grabbed 46 and the Chargers 45.
• GCU had trouble holding onto the ball, losing it 19 times. Dominican committed just 11 turnovers.

1st Half
• Georgian Courts offensive woes started early.
• More than 10 minutes into the game, Georgian Court had just six points and trailed 20-6.
• They came alive late though. Dominican built a 29-8 lead, their largest of the half.
• It was the Chargers turn to go cold. Georgian Court finished the half on a 22-4 run of their own. Eli Nix and Jaycen Santucci made baskets in the final minute.
• When all was said and done, the Charger lead was just three at the half, 33-30.

2nd Half
• Less than two minutes into the second half, Cam Edmonds gave the Lions their first lead with a three.
• Trailing by three, Dominican went on another run. This time 7-0 to go ahead 42-38.
• The lead went back and forth a couple of times until the Lions offense stumbled again. Dominican was able to get back out in front by six, 60-54 with five minutes left to play.
• Georgian Court was never able to get back to a one-possession game as the Chargers kept making shots and finished with a 74-63 win.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Cam Edmonds scored a team-best 16 points, going 9-11 at the foul line.
• Jaycen Santucci and Tesneem Ajeigbe finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
• Donald-James Imo added eight points and a team-best eight rebounds.

For the Chargers
• Javel Cherry scored a team-high 15 points with six rebounds.
• Koi D. Kir, Jr. had an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double.
• Elijah Peters scored 14 points in 16 minutes of action.

News and Notes
• After defeating Dominican earlier in the year, the Lions were held off of their first ever sweep of the Chargers. 
• Tesneem Ajeigbe grabbed his 100th rebound.
• Jaycen Santucci scored his 100th field goal.
