Lions Defeat Bridgeport at Home

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 7th, 2026) - In a tightly contested match-up, the Georgian Court Lions held off Bridgeport for a 51–44 win

How it Happened
• Georgian Court outshot Bridgeport 28.1% to 26.2%. 
• Both teams received key contributions from their benches, with the Lions scoring 29 bench points and Bridgeport adding 26.
• The Lions took better care of the ball, committing just nine turnovers compared to the Purple Knights 14.
• Georgian Court capitalized at the line, shooting 16-for-23 on free throws, compared to Bridgeport's 8-for-13.

1st Quarter
• Georgian Court set the tone early, opening the game with a 9–0 run in the first five minutes.
• Bridgeport got to the free-throw line for its first points, with Niyah Whitten opening the scoring.
• Morgan Sconza scored her first points of the game on a three-pointer.
• Bridgeport narrowed the gap to 14–8 as the teams headed into the second quarter.

2nd Quarter
• The Lions started the quarter strong as Morgan Sconza hit another three.
•The Lions struggled offensively in the second quarter, making only one of 16 shots. 
• After that, the Lions only scored from the free-throw line, with Morgan Sconza making two and Imani Gillette adding three.
• This scoring lull allowed Bridgeport to cut the lead to four going into the half. 

3rd Quarter
• The Lions started strong and built a 10-point lead in the opening three minutes.
• Imani Gillette had nine points in the third. 
• A much stronger offensive effort, going 6-for-14, helped the Lions build a 12-point lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

4th Quarter
• Bridgeport turned to India Lee, who had 10 points in the final quarter. 
• A layup from India Lee cut the lead down to four with 46 seconds remaining. 
Amyah Bray answered back with a layup to keep some distance between the teams. 
• With Bridgeport forced to foul, Amyah Bray sank a free throw to secure the 51–44 victory.

• Imani Gillette had 19 points and 12 rebounds. 
Morgan Sconza had eight points. 
Karissa Smedley also had eight points. 

For the Purple Knights
India Lee had 14 points.
Savannah Prescott had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Zahkiyyah Frazier had eight points.
