WILSON, NC (March 1, 2026) - Georgian Court finished up their trip to North Carolina taking on West Virginia Wesleyan. In another close game, Georgian Court fell just short, 3-2 to the Bobcats.
How it Happened
• Both teams knocked just six hits, as each side deployed outstanding pitching.
• The Lions made two errors that lead to an unearned run. WVW played a clean game in the field.
• Strikeouts were again a problem for the Lions who fanned 13 times. GCU hitters also drew nine walks, but stranded 10 runners.
• GCU pitchers struck outs seven and walked four.
• It was a scoreless game into the third when WVW led off the frame with a solo home run.
• It stayed that way until the sixth when the Bobcats plated another run on a two-out RBI single for a 2-0 lead.
• The Lions got one run back in the home half of the inning and nearly made it two. With runners on second and third and one out,

JR Osmond was thrown out at the plate, preventing the tying run from scoring.
• WVW added an insurance run in the eighth. An error started the inning and that run not only came in to score, but proved to be the difference in the ball game.

Brian Guzman led off the bottom of the inning with a solo home run to draw the Lions back within one.
• Georgian Court had a chance in the ninth. With one out,
Oliver Santana walked and stole second to put the tying run in scoring position. However Bobcat pitchers sandwiched a walk around two strikeouts leaving Oliver stuck on second.
