NORTH WALES, PA (April 14, 2026) - The wins haven't always been there, but Georgian Court Baseball has shown this season they play hard for 27 outs. That was never more on display than Tuesday afternoon playing at Chestnut Hill when the Lions trailed by five entering the eighth and proceeded to score eight times to steal a win away from the Griffins.
How it Happened
• Georgian Court definitely brought their hitting shoes to PA as they pounded out 17 hits to score 14 runs.
• Chestnut Hill wasn't far behind scoring 11 times on 12 hits.
• The Lions made three errors in the field which cost them two unearned runs. CHC also surrendered two unearned runs on one error in the field.
• The baseball was flying all over Hostelley Field. There were a combined 10 doubles and four home runs.
• CHC got on the board early with a three-run first inning. A double play helped
Cooper DeLaBarre out, which brought in the first run. But A two-run home run one batter later gave the Griffins an early 3-0 lead.
• Georgian Court got right back into the game in the second scoring a pair of unearned runs.
• After
Jack Greenspan tied the game at four with a two-out, two-RBI double in the fourth, the Griffins answered immediately with a home run leading off the bottom of the inning.
• Chestnut Hill scored in three straight innings. They added two unearned runs in the sixth and took their largest lead, 9-4.
• The score stayed that way until the eighth. That's when GCU dug in.

Frank Marra started it with a double. They sent 12 men to the plate in the inning and cashed in eight runs on eight hits.
• RBI hits from
John Smith and
Colby McMahon brought the Lions to within one, 9-8.
• Down in the count 0-2,
Frankie Noviello went the other way for a double, giving the Lions their first lead, 10-9.
• GCU wasn't finished though as a run scored on a wild pitch and another two-strike hit, this time a single from Greenspan made it 12-9.
• The Griffins got closer in the bottom of the eighth with three straight doubles to make it a one-run game going to the ninth.
• Solo home runs from
JR Osmond and
Evangelos Spyrogiannis gave the Lions some insurance and
Evan Corso pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for the save.

Jack Greenspan was on base five times with two hits and three walks. He drove in four runs.

JR Osmond finished 3-6 with a home run and two runs scored.

Colby McMahon scored three runs.
•
Frankie Noviello singled, doubled, stole two bases, scored two runs and drove in a pair.

Brian Guzman,
John Smith and
Matt DiOttavio all collected two hits.
For the Griffins
• Matthew Sharkey was a triple shy of the cycle and drove in four runs.
• Michael Pascoe had three hits and two runs scored.
• Wyatt Spinks finished 2-4 with a run and an RBI.
News and Notes
• This is the Lions largest comeback win in program history when trailing after six innings.
• The Lions 17 hits are also a new program record.
• The first seven in the GCU lineup all picked up at least two hits.
• The leadoff hitter reached base in 13 of 18 half innings. GCU was 7-9 putting the leadoff runner on.
