PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (April 22, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball was on the road for a twin bill Wednesday afternoon. GCU picked up a nine-inning, 6-5 win before the Rams bats came to life in game two, earning themselves a split of the doubleheader.
Game 1 - Georgian Court 6, Jefferson 5
How it Happened
• The Lions scored six runs on eight hits, three of which went for extra-bases.
• Jefferson scored their five on nine hits.
• Game on featured three home runs, two by Georgian Court.
• Georgian Court pitchers got the win despite walking 10 batters and hitting two. When the Rams swung, they put the ball in play as the Lions didn't record a strikeout.
• Jefferson struck out nine batters and walked seven.
• The Rams are kicking themselves for the number of runners left on base. They stranded 12 in the one-run loss.
• Most of the Lions damage came in the first.
JR Osmond started it with a solo home run two batters into the game.
• The Lions kept swinging and three straight singles following the home run made it a 2-0 ball game.
• With two outs,
Evangelos Spyrogiannis went deep to left center and the Lions led 5-0 before the Rams came to the plate.
• The score stayed that way until the second when Jefferson scored on a wild pitch and a two-out double cut the lead to 5-2. It could have been more, but a fly out left the bases loaded.
• One big swing in the fourth tied the game at five. They started the inning with consecutive singles followed by a long ball to left center.
• With two outs in the eighth and still tied,
Frankie Noviello's two-out RBI double gave the Lions the lead back, 6-5.
• In the bottom of the inning with the bases loaded and one out,
Evan Corso got a ground ball double-play to end the inning.
• Jefferson again put runners on in the ninth, but a fly ball ended the game with the winning run on base.

Game 2 - Jefferson 15, Georgian Court 5 - 6 Innings
How it Happened
• Walks were a major problem for the Lions who walked seven in six five innings pitched.
• They were also done-in by a defense that made four errors and led to six unearned runs.
• Jefferson pitchers struck out eight in six innings.
• The Rams scored first with a two-out RBI double for a 1-0 lead after one.
• That didn't last long though as Georgian Court had another five-run inning, this time in the second inning.

Frankie Noviello and
JR Osmond picked up RBI hits in the inning for a 5-1 Lions lead.
• The lead didn't last an inning with Jefferson scoring seven times in the third.
• They sent 11 to the plate and picked up five hits. At one point eight straight batters reached base and the lead was back in favor of the home team, 8-5.
• Two innings later, Jefferson again scored seven runs. This time on just two hits as they took advantage of three GCU errors in the inning to score four unearned runs.
• Georgian Court had just one more hit the rest of the game and after six innings, the game was called due to darkness.
