JACKSON, NJ (April 24, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball took on the CACC leading Wilmington Wildcats for a doubleheader Friday afternoon. The Wildcats showed why they're atop the league standings, as they swept the doubleheader 13-1 and 9-0.
Game 1 - Wilmington 13, Georgian Court 1 - 7 Innings
How it Happened
• Wilmington scored 13 runs on 17 hits. They singled the Lions to death with just four extra-base hits.
• The Lions picked up just six hits and scored a run.
• Both teams made two errors. The Lions allowed two unearned runs to score.
• After both teams went down in order in the first, Wilmington got on the board in the second. Three straight hits scored the first run for the Wildcats.
• They tacked on with a two-run, two-RBI triple and two seeing-eye singles to bring in four more.
• In the bottom of the second, Georgian Court opened the inning with three straight singles to score a run. Wilmington though limited the damage, retiring the next three stranding two on base.
• The Wildcats tacked on three more in the fourth to extend the lead to 8-1. It could have been more if not for a pair of excellent defensive plays at short by
Arian Lunar who saved at least two runs.
• Lunar made another nice play, a running catch in shallow left field to end the fifth, but Wilmington started the frame with a leadoff home run to push the lead to 9-1.
• Wilmington with five hits and three more runs in the sixth made it double-digit lead, 12-1 in the sixth.
• They added another in the sixth and scored in each of the final four innings
• Georgian Court loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh, but
Jack Greenspan's drive to right was tracked down and the game ended 13-1.

For The Wildcats
• Xavier Cortez nearly threw a complete game going 6.2 innings allowing a run on six hits with seven strikeouts.
• Justin Hernandez had a pair of hits in three at bats with two runs and two RBI.
• Cam Trego homered as part of a two-hit day.
• D'Angelo Ponce singled, scored twice and drove in two.
• Brett Walmsley finished 3-4 with two runs scored.
Game 2 - Wilmington 9, Georgian Court 0
How it Happened
• Wilmington scored nine runs on 13 hits. They again had some extra-base hit pop collecting two doubles and two triples.
• GCU was limited to just three hits.
• There were a combined six errors, four by Georgian Court. That led to one unearned run.
• Once again just like game one, neither team plated a run in the first.
• And also like game one, Wilmington put up a crooked number in the second. It started with a bloop double to right and they scored two runs taking advantage of two Lions errors in the inning.
• Wilmington tacked on a run in the fourth. A one-out triple and a sacrifice fly put the Wildcats up 3-0.
• That wasn't all though. A walk extended the inning and a two-run home run pushed the lead to 5-0.
• The Wildcats had their second straight three-run inning in the fifth. They started the inning with three straight hits to score one. A two-out, two-run double completed the inning and Wilmington led 8-0.
• Wilmington added a run in the sixth and brought them to the 9-0 final score.

For the Wildcats
• Dylan Potero got the win throwing six shutout innings allowing just three hits and striking out four.
• Brian Klumpp had a triple and scored a run.
• Steven Katch drove in two runs.
• Jacob Santiago singled and scored twice with an RBI.

• This was the Lions first time being shutout this season.
• Wilmington visited GCU for the first time. They move to 4-0 against the Lions.
