JACKSON, NJ (April 4, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball finished up their three-game set with Goldey-Beacom Saturday afternoon. After a pair of one-run games Saturday, the Lightning broke out for a 13-3 win in seven innings.
How it Happened
• Georgian Court put lots of runners on base. Not only did GBC knock nine hits, they drew 11 walks and GCU pitchers hit seven batters.
• While all that was happening on defense, the Lion offense mustered just three hits to score three runs.
• Goldey-Beacom also had a field day on the bases, stealing six bags.
•
Evan Corso struggled staying in the strike zone in the second inning. Two hit-by-pitches and a walk loaded the bases with one out. The first run scored on a marathon, 14-pitch at bat that ended in an RBI walk.
• GBC knocked consecutive RBI singles and led 4-0.
• The Lightning added two more in the third with a two-out, two-RBI single. It was nearly much more, but
Jackson Cooper left the bases loaded as Frankie Noveillo reeled in a deep fly ball to the warning track in center.
• Georgian Court got a run in the bottom of the fourth. Noviello did the work himself drawing a leadoff walk, moving to second on a balk and scoring from second on a long fly ball to right where the right fielder made a running catch against the fence.
• Goldey-Beacom got the run back in the top of the fifth scoring on a wild pitch to make it 7-1 Lightning.
•
Arian Lunar drove in a run in the bottom of the sixth to bring GCU back to within five, 7-2.
• GBC responded with two in the top of the sixth, getting a bases loaded single and a sacrifice fly. It could have been more, but the Lightning ran themselves out of the inning as the runner on second left early tagging up to third and the inning ended.
• Georgian Court loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the sixth. GBC got out with just a run scoring on a ground ball and led 9-3 after six.
• Goldey-Beacom put up their second four-run inning of the game, scoring four times in the seventh and the game ended 13-3 after seven.
