Fort Lauderdale, FL (Aug.27th, 2026) - Georgian Court Women's Soccer kicked off the 2026 season down in the Sunshine State. The Lions fell 7-0 to Nova Southeastern, who took control early and maintained the momentum throughout the match.

How it Happened
• Nova outshot GCU 24-4 throughout the game. 
• Georgian Court had the advantage on corner kicks 4 - 2. 
• NSU committed six fouls in the match, while GCU finished with four.

First Half
• Just four minutes into the match, Nova Southeastern opened the scoring as Genesis Hernandez found the back of the net to give NSU an early lead.
• Hernandez completed her hat trick just 32 minutes into the match, giving the Sharks a 3-0 lead.
• Haley Mettrick scored one more before half to make it 4-0. 
Second Half
• One of the two corner kicks Nova had in the game led to their fifth goal of the game about 80 minutes into the game. 
• Five minutes later goal number six was scored by Kamryn Pry 
• With just 20 seconds left Nova scored their seventh and final goal of the game.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Chelsea Lavezzo had three shots for GCU. 
• Jaleigh Tuccile made four saves, and Delaine Wilkinson made three for GCU.

• Genesis Hernandez had three goals for NSU. 
• Kamryn Pry had two goals. 
• Four different Sharks had an assist. 
 
News and Notes
• Many Lions played in their first career games: Hailey Monprode, Rori McDonough, Addison Agee, Gabriela Sabillon, Sophie Balnik, Kayla Reed, Anna Haselmann, Ayress Maitland, and Haley Mendez. 
• Season openers as a whole haven't been too kind to Georgian Court, who fall to 1-9-2 in their first games of the season in their last 12 openers.
