Lions Fall 3-2 to Palm Beach Atlantic After Early Two-Goal Lead

West Palm Beach, FL (Aug. 30th, 2026) - Georgian Court Women's Soccer fell 3-2 to Palm Beach Atlantic. The Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Sailfish battled back, scoring three unanswered goals to complete the comeback.

How it Happened 
• Palm Beach had 26 shots compared to Georgian Court's 13.
• PBA had the advantage on corner kicks with eight; GCU was able to get three. 
• Fouls were even with six for both teams. 

 First Half 
• The opening minutes of the first half featured a back-and-forth battle between the two teams.
Kayla Reed found the back of the net midway through the first half, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.
• The Sailfish had an opportunity to even the score on a penalty kick, but Delaine Wilkinson came up with the save. Wilkinson followed with another big stop shortly after to keep the Lions ahead 1-0 heading into halftime.

Second Half 
• It took just two minutes into the second half for the Lions to strike again, as Ashlee Spicer found Chelsea Lavezzo to give Georgian Court a 2-0 advantage.
• The Sailfish quickly answered back, scoring two goals within four minutes of each other to even the match at 2-2.
• Palm Beach Atlantic scored the go-ahead goal in the 75th minute, taking a 3-2 lead that they would hold onto for the remainder of the match.

Chelsea Lavezzo and Kayla Reed each scored one goal. 
Ashlee Spicer had one assist for GCU. 
Delaine Wilkinson made nine saves in net. 

  For the Sailfish 
Meren Patton had one goal and one assist. 
Kelsi Patton had one goal. 
Maddie Hulme had one goal and one assist.
