Second-Half Surge Powers Georgian Court Past Molloy

Lakewood, NJ (Sept. 12, 2026) - Down at the half, Georgian Court Women's Soccer scored four unanswered second-half goals to give them a 4-1 win against Molloy. 

How it Happened 
• Shots were close, with Molloy having 15 to Georgian Court's 14. Despite having more overall shots, GCU had more on goal with 10 compared to Molloy's seven. 
• Saves were even at six for both teams. 
• Corner kicks were also even at three.
 
First Half 
• Just two minutes into the second half, Molloy created an early scoring opportunity, but Delaine Wilkinson came up with the save to keep them off the board.
• Minutes later, GCU created an opportunity of its own as Hailey Funkhouser fired a shot on goal that was saved.
• The majority of the half was a back-and-forth battle between the Lion teams. 
• With five minutes remaining in the half, it would be Molloy to get on the board with a goal from Amanda Martin. 

Second Half 
• After 20 minutes of battling back and forth, Seanna Boan was fouled in the box, and the Lions stepped up for a penalty kick. 
Chelsea Lavezzo stepped up for GCU and found the back of the net, putting the Lions on the board and tying the game at 1-1.
• Just 30 seconds later, Lavezzo struck again, firing a shot into the upper part of the net to give the Lions the lead.
• Continuing the heat streak, Kayla Reed would find Chiamaka Wokocha across the 18 to put the ball in. 
• With about 11 minutes remaining, Chiamaka Wokocha would find Seanna Boan to give the Lions a three-goal advantage. 
 
Lion Stat Leaders 
Chelsea Lavezzo had two goals for the Lions. 
• Chiamaka Wokocha had a goal and an assist for GCU. 
• Seanna Boan had a goal. 
 Kayla Reed had two assists in the game. 
Ashlee Spicer and Addison Agee had an assist. 
Delaine Wilkinson had six saves. 
  
For the Molloy Lions 
• Amanda Martin had the goal for Molloy. 
• Elyse Munoz had six saves in net. 
  
News and Notes 
Chelsea Lavezzo scored her 25th career goal. 
• This is the first time GCU has beaten Molloy in almost 20 years.
