Lakewood, NJ (Sept.15th, 2026) - Georgian Court Women's Soccer opened CACC play Tuesday afternoon against Bridgeport. The Lions battled throughout the match, but a three-goal second half from the Purple Knights ultimately lifted Bridgeport to a 4-0 victory.
How it Happened
• Shots favored the Purple Knights, who finished with 20 compared to four for the Lions.
• Bridgeport also held the advantage in corner kicks, earning four while holding the Lions without one.
• The two teams were nearly even in fouls, with Bridgeport committing 10 and Georgian Court nine.
First Half
• Bridgeport generated the first three offensive opportunities of the match.
• The Purple Knights broke through in the 26th minute, as Luiza Macedo found the back of the net to give Bridgeport a 1-0 lead.
• GCU struggled to generate offensive opportunities in the first half, recording just two shots but was unable to capitalize on either chance.
Second Half
• Bridgeport carried its offensive momentum into the second half, recording four shots before GCU was able to register its first opportunity of the period.
• Bridgeport added its second goal in the 82nd minute, with Manuela Macedo finding the back of the net to extend the Purple Knights' lead.
• Five minutes later, Macedo struck again for her second goal of the match, extending Bridgeport's lead to 3-0.
• The Purple Knights added their final goal with just 30 seconds remaining in regulation, bringing the final score to 4-0.
