GCU Soars Past Eagles of Post University, 4-3

BRICK, NJ- In a game moved from the saturated natural grass of Georgian Court University's Investors Savings Bank Field to the synthetic turf of the Drum Point Sports Complex in Brick, NJ, the GCU soccer team was able to rebound from Tuesday's disheartening loss at Philadelphia University with a 4-3 defeat of visiting Post University (3-10, 1-7 CACC).

GCU freshman Cyn-Dee Wong (pictured) broke a two-all tie with her first collegiate goal, a one-timer, on an Alexa Niro cross at 71:13. Katie Schieder added an integral insurance tally at 73:08, her second score of the year, on a feed from Farrell Pomponio.

A pair of first-half goals from junior Skyler Eiceman accounted for the Lions' remaining scores. Reigning CACC Player of the Week, senior goalkeeper Lindsay Hammond collected nine saves in the victory.

Georgian Court, with the win, improves to 9-6 on the year with a 7-2 mark vs. CACC opponents. The Lions with travel to rival-Caldwell College this Monday for a 3:00 PM make-up contest. The game was postponed due to rain back on September 12th.
