LAKEWOOD, NJ- Five different players netted goals and the defense permitted five total shots as the Georgian Court University soccer team put together one of its finest performances of the season, defeating CACC-rival, Felician College, 6-0, Saturday afternoon at Investors Savings Bank Field.
The Lions improve to 6-5 on the year (4-1 CACC) after winning their third straight game. Felician drops to 4-7 overall with a 3-4 CACC mark.
Sophomore
Kelly Lyons gave GCU a quick 1-0 advantage in the 4th minute (3:16) when she drilled a
Farrell Pomponio pass for her conference-leading 11th goal of the season. She would register her second of the day at 65:32, this time on a
Shealyn Sullivan dish.
Lyons was all about equal opportunity this afternoon as she assisted on scores by Candice Seaton at 13:48, Seaton's 4th of the year, and senior
Alley Abbate's sumptuous smash (first of year) at 25:40. Seaton also contributed an assist, coming on
Allyson Buckley's first tally of the campaign at 76:22.
Freshman
Taylor Reinecke also scored, her 4th of the season, on a
Skyler Eiceman pass at 21:05.
Goalkeeper
Lindsay Hammond solidified her third shutout of the year, collecting three saves on the day.
Georgian Court looks to make it four in a row Wednesday afternoon when they host Holy Family University at 4:00 PM.
