ORANGEBURG, NY-  Sophomore Kelly Lyons netted the game winning goal in the 102nd minute of play to lift the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University to a 2-1 victory over Dominican College Sunday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.

Dominican took a 1-0 lead at 13:54 when forward Jamilyn Snyder (Fr.) got the free ball off a GCU throw-in and netted a shot off  from the 18-yard line.

The Lions knotted the game at 1-1 in the 28th minute of action as sophomore Shealyn Sullivan (pictured) scored her first career goal off an assist by Candace Seaton (So.).

In the second overtime period, Lyons was able to put it in the net off the dish from Sullivan at the 102:55 mark for the 2-1 victory.

GCU outshot the Lady Chargers 14-10 and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

With the victory the Lions improve to 4-5 overall and 2-1 in the CACC, while Dominican falls to 4-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the CACC.

GCU is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College for a 4:00 PM contest.
