LAKEWOOD, NJ-The Georgian Court University basketball squad lost its third straight contest Saturday afternoon, falling to Caldwell College, 75-61, in a CACC match-up in the GCU Wellness Center.

Dana Wert (pictured) at 15:47 gave the Lions an 11-6 lead and its second five-point advantage of the game. The Cougars chipped away and tied the contest at 17-all with 10:01 remaining in the half on a three-pointer from junior
Kirsty Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) and took the lead for good on a free throw by sophomore
Kaitlyn Lambert (Cumberland, RI) at 4:06, making the score 26-25 Caldwell. The vistitors entered the half with a 33-29 lead.
The second stanza, capped by Leedhams's 12 points (5-for-8), was all Cougars as they outscored the home team, 42-32. Caldwell enjoyed four seperate 20-point leads in the half.
Lambert (14 points, 11 rebounds) and freshman
Torey Jones (North Providence, RI) (14 points, 10 rebounds) collected double-doubles for the Cougars while Leedham led all scorers with 18 points, including a 6-for-7 effort from the free-throw line.
For the seventh time this season and second straight game, freshman #Shawna Wert# led the Lions in the scoring column with 17 points. Junior #Lauren Staats# drained 15 points in 35 minutes while
Dana Wert provided 12 in a 40-minute effort.
Georgian Court falls to 3-9 (1-4 CACC) while Caldwell College improves to 7-5 (3-2 CACC). GCU will next take to floor on Thursday, January 14th, when they host Goldey-Beacom College at 6PM in "The Well."
