PHILADELPHIA, PA- Despite its highest offensive output of the season, the Georgian Court University basketball squad still seeks its first "W" of the 2010-11 campaign as the Lions dropped a 77-63 decision Thursday evening at CACC-rival Chestnut Hill College.
Freshman
Brittany Baker earned her first collegiate double-double for GCU (0-7, 0-3 CACC), topping the squad with 17 points and 10 rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench. Senior
Lauren Staats contributed 13 points (including three three-pointers) in 37 minutes of action while junior
Samantha Foley shot 5-for-11 from the field, good for 10 points in 31 minutes. She also snared six boards.
Chestnut Hill's
Lindsay Alexander (So.-Huntingdon Valley, PA) led all scorers with 28 points, including a 3-for-5 effort from three-point territory and 7-for-9 from the charity stripe, in just 29 minutes of play.
Cecelia Herald (Sr.-Gaithersburg, MD) provided 11 points for the Griffins (3-5, 1-1 CACC).
The Lions, losers of 11 straight (dating back to last season), return to action Saturday afternoon at 12 PM when they welcome #16 Holy Family University to the GCU Wellness Center.
