PIKE CREEK, DE- In a game rescheduled from 7PM to 5PM due to the impending snow, the Georgian Court University basketball squad traveled to the First State Tuesday afternooon and dropped an 81-55 decision to host-Goldey-Beacom College in CACC action.
With the defeat the Lions fall to 0-15 on the year (0-8 CACC) while the Lightning improve its record to 7-7 (5-2 CACC).
Re'auna Dorner enjoyed a breakout game for GCU by coming off the bench and scoring a career-high 15 points, which included a 5-for-9 effort from the field, in 28 total minutes.
Chinyere Ozuzu followed up Saturday's 16-point effort at Caldwell College by depositing 13 points vs. Goldey-Beacom, while also snaring seven rebounds, in 28 minutes.
Samantha Foley contributed 12 points of her own in 19 minutes of action.

Brittany Baker grabbed nine boards apiece to lead the Lions.

Jacinda Jones (Claymont, DE) earned her 1,000th career point with a free throw at 14:37 in the first half. She needed five points coming in and scored five of the Lightning's first seven points to give GBC an early 7-5 lead. She finished with a game-high 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field (3-of-5 from long-range).
Teammate
Janae Weldon (Sr.-Trenton, NJ) nailed a jumper at 19:23 of the second half, also reaching the 1000th point of her career. She went on to finish with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field (3-of-5 from three-point range).
Irene Hudson (So.-Syracuse, NY) also eclipsed double-digits in the scoring column with 11 points, while also grabbing a team-high nine rebounds.
The Lions come home to host Chestnut Hill College in a CACC match-up this Thursday at 6PM in "The Well."
