LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University basketball team fell to visiting Bloomfield College, 84-45, in CACC action Saturday afternoon in the GCU Wellness Center. The Lady Deacons remain undefeated against conference foes (8-0) and improve to 10-5 overall while the Lions drop to 0-18 (0-11 CACC) in the win-loss column.
Sophomore
Samantha Heck topped the home team in scoring with 14 points (6-for-15) in 32 minutes while freshman
Jasmine Lewis followed just behind with 13 of her own, to go along with a team-high five assists, in 36 minutes of action.
Freshman
Jasmine Cobbs snagged a game-high 10 rebounds for the Lions.
Four Lady Deacons eclipsed double-digits in scoring, including senior
Tiffany McDaniel (Colonia, NJ) (16 points), junior
Vanessa Lamison (Laurel, MD) (15 points), senior
Robyn Burton (Capitol Heights, MD) (13 points) and former Georgian Court student-athlete
Shaniqua Bacote (So.-Patterson, NJ) (11 points). Bacote played 26 games for the Lions in 2009-10.
Georgian Court returns to the floor on Thursday, January 27 when the Lions travel to Concordia College for another CACC match-up. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
