BRONXVILLE, NY- After compiling a 39-33 advantage at halftime, the Georgian Court University basketball squad was outscored, 40-19, in the second stanza as host Concordia College ran away with a 73-58 CACC victory Thursday evening in the Meyer Athletic Center.
With the defeat, the Lions remain winless with a 0-19 record (0-12 CACC) as the Clippers snapped a five-game skid of its own to improve to 3-15 (2-9 CACC) on the season.
Samantha Heck and
Lauren Staats led the Lions with 12 points and 10 points, respectively, while
Kiki Mayweather grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Jasmine Lewis dropped in nine points of her own and distributed a team-high five assists.
Concordia junior
Chanessa Blakemore (Albany, NY) lit up the Lions for a triple-double with an astounding 20 points, 20 rebounds and 12 blocks. Also providing double-digits in the scoring column were sophomore
Krystina Agard (Queens, NY) (16 points), freshman
Tara Ann Rock (Queens, NY) (12 points) and freshman
Alease Vaughan (New Rochelle, NY) (11 points).
Georgian Court stays on the road as they travel to Waterbury, CT Saturday afternoon for a CACC contest at Post University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00PM.
