WATERBURY, CT-The Georgian Court University basketball team, in its first road contest of the season, dropped a 93-77 decision at Post University Wednesday evening.

 The Eagles (2-1) led 15-14 with 13:20 left in the first half. They pushed the lead to 47-32 heading into the break. Georgian Court (0-2) cut the lead to 11 midway through the second half but that would be as close as they would get.

GCU's Tahira Matthews shined for the Lions as she drained a team-high 27 points, which included 9-for-13 efforts from both the field and the charity stripe. Teammate Brittany Sims also reached double-digits with 11 points.

Georgian Court next travels to Mercy College on Tuesday afternoon for a 5:30 PM game.
