LAKEWOOD, NJ-The Georgian Court University basketball squad squandered its second consecutive late-minute advantage Wednesday evening as the Lions dropped a 61-53 decision to visiting Southern New Hampshire University of the Northeast-10 in the Wellness Center.
GCU (1-8), holding a 49-43 lead with less than 10 minutes to go in the contest (9:28), watched the Penmen (8-2) sprint down the homestretch on an 18-4 run to spell the end for the home team.
On Saturday, the Lions led Concordia College, 64-58, with 8:37 left in regulation before permitting the Clippers to outscore them, 20-10, the rest of the way, eventually losing by a 78-74 mark.
In a first half that saw the two clubs tied 12-12 at 13:34, SNH concluded the stanza on a 22-15 spurt to go into the intermission up, 34-27. GCU's
Tahira Matthews netted all of her 13 points in the opening period.
Megan Smith (Sr.-Smithfield, ME) dropped in 10 of her game-high 14 points for the Penmen.

Ebony Sellers joined Matthews with a double-digit effort in the scoring column (12) as did Baker with a season-high 11 points. She (Baker) also swiped a game-high six steals.
Michelle DeRoma (Jr.-West Roxbury, MA) drained 12 points to go with seven rebounds while
Lauren Rocha (FR.-Espargos, Cape Verde) also contributed 12 points.
Sloane Sorrell (Jr.-Berwick, ME) snagged a game-high 10 boards to go with her seven points.
Christine Duffy (Sr.-South Boston, MA) distributed nine assists to go with seven points of her own.
