PHILADELPHIA, PA- The #18 team in the nation, Holy Family University, breezed to an 84-41 victory over visiting Georgian Court University Wednesday evening, giving the Lions just three more opportunities to secure its first victory of the season.
The Tigers improve to 16-3 (13-1 CACC) with the Lions falling to 0-23 (0-16 CACC).
The freshman duo of
Brittany Baker and
Jasmine Cobbs led the struggling GCU offense with nine points apiece while Baker led her teammates with nine rebounds.
Three Holy Family players achieved double-digits, led by senior
Catherine Carr (Bernardsville, NJ) who eclipsed the career-mark of 1,800 points with her 19 on the night, moving her into third place on the Tigers' all-time scoring list.
Samantha Thompson (Gr.-Southampton, PA) (14 points) and
Erin Mann (So.-West Chester, PA) (10 points) joined Carr with 10+ points while
Lindsey Tennett (Sr.-Perkasie, PA) tied Baker with a game-high nine boards.
Georgian Court travels to Felician College for its next game this Saturday at 1:00 PM. The Lions' last victory came vs. the Golden Falcons on 2/13/10 (a 46-35 triumph) in a game played at the GCU Wellness Center.
