2010-11 Season Comes to Close for Lions with Senior Day Celebration

LAKEWOOD, NJ- The 2010-11 basketball season came to a close for Georgian Court University, as did the collegiate careers of seniors Kiki Mayweather and Lauren Staats, with a contest vs. Dominican College Saturday afternoon in the GCU Wellness Center.

The Lions fell to the visiting Lady Chargers, 71-63.

Staats, the program's DII career leader with 163 three-pointers, topped Georgian Court with 16 points in the contest, giving her 953 for her career and placing her second on GCU's DII scoring list (Longdo-1,018).

Mayweather dropped in five points, grabbed seven rebounds, and distributed a team-high four assists in the effort.

Brittany Baker contributed 12 points in 19 minutes while Tara Fearon (for the second straight game) established a new career-high with 10 points in 28 minutes for the Lions.

Dominican's Lindsey Lopez (So.-Elmwood Park, NJ) topped all scorers with 22 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the floor, 5-for-9 from three-point territory and a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. Meghan Murphy (Jr.-Carmel, NY) contributed 14 points for the Lady Chargers. Shanice Scully (Sr.-St. Albans, NY) led all players with nine assists.

The Lions end the year at 0-26 (0-19 CACC) while Dominican improves to 9-15 (7-10 CACC).
