Lakewood, NJ- Georgian Court found Philadelphia University to be "Ram tough" Thursday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball as the home team dropped a 75-59 decision to divisional rival Philadelphia University, spoiling the Lions' 2014-2015 home opener. Georgian Court falls to 0-3 (0-1 CACC) on the young season while the Rams improve to 3-0 (1-0 CACC).
The Lions were able to spread the scoring around as eight different players put points on the board, led by
Tahira Matthews' (Sr. Bloomfield, NJ) 15 points and J
ess Placher (Fr. Cape Coral, FL), who chipped in with 11. Philadelphia was led by
Najah Jacobs (Sr. Philadelphia, Pa.), who had a game high 27 points on 10- of-13 shooting and was tremendous throughout the game in all aspects.
The Lions played with energy throughout the game, but 21 turnovers was too much for the young squad to overcome against an opponent who has been flirting with the national Top-25.
Georgian Court will next take the court this Saturday as they head to Rochester, New York for a non- conference match up with Roberts Wesleyan College. Tip-off is slated 2:00 p.m.
