Lions Come Out On Short End of Cat Fight as GCU Women Fall to Holy Family, 83-57

Lakewood, NJ-   Holy Family University women's basketball has long been the beacon of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and on this night the young Lions from Georgian Court saw firsthand how good the Tigers can be. After a competitive first ten minutes of the game where each team held a lead, the Tigers went on a 25-7 run and went up 42-25 heading into intermission before eventually winning by a final of 83-57.

The Lions were able to cut into the Tigers lead early in the second half, but could pull no closer than 13. Holy Family had a balanced attack as 11 different players got into the scoring column of which five were in double digits, led by Kasey Woetzel (Jr.-Wyckoff, N.J.) with 14. 

Georgian Court had three players get into double digits as Jaelyn Tweedy (Fr. Richmond, Va.) and Kiara Colston (Fr. Burtonsville, Md.) each had 12 points followed by Morgan Peacock (So. Edison, N.J.) with 11.

The loss drops the Lions to 0-5 (0-2 CACC) while Holy Family improves to 2-3 (1-0 CACC).

Georgian Court will begin a five-game road trip on December 3rd as they travel to Delaware to take on Goldey- Beacom College. The team returns home on December 21st for a 1 p.m. tipoff vs. Southern Connecticut State University.
