Albany, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University women's basketball squad remains winless away from the Wellness Center as the Lions faltered at The College of Saint Rose, 70-43, in Saturday afternoon non-conference hoops action.
GCU now owns a record of 1-14 on the year while the Golden Knights inch closer to the .500 mark at 7-9.
Saint Rose coasted into the intermission with a comfortable 32-14 advantage, before holding the visitors at bay in the second stanza, 38-29.
Tahira Matthews (Sr.-Bloomfield, N.J.) topped GCU with her 10 points and eight rebounds while
Justine Doran (Fr.-Milford, N.J.) followed with nine points in 17 minutes off the Georgian Court bench.
Staci Barrett (So.-Elmont, N.Y.) and
Mariah Lesure (Sr.-Amherst, Mass.) each compiled a team-best 15 points for the Golden Knights while teammates
Nicole Bini (Jr.-Rochester, N.Y.) and
Jamie Hutcheson (Sr.-Ancaster, Ontario) contributed 10 points each.
The Lions return to CACC competition Wednesday evening with a trip to Philadelphia University at 6:00 p.m.
