Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University women's basketball squad suffered its fourth straight setback to start the 2015-16 campaign as the Lions dropped an 88-67 decision to visiting Roberts Wesleyan College Saturday night in the GCU Wellness Center Arena.

The Redhawks (4-0) owned the advantage from start to finish in the victory as RWC set the tone with a 21-6 lead after the first quarter of action. The surplus would increase to 18 as the visitors coasted into intermission ahead by a comfortable margin of 42-26. The highwater mark of the outing reached 28 when Roberts Wesleyan expanded its comfort zone to 88-60 with just 1:25 left in regulation.

RWC's Samantha Courtney (Sr.-Marathon, N.Y.) enjoyed a double-double effort of 11 boards and a game-high 24 points in the triumph. Lucy Covely (So.-Fairport, N.Y.) shot 8-for-17 from the field, which included six three-pointers, as the 5-10 guard collected 22 points overall. Brooke Fields (So.-Owings Mills, Md.) drained 13 points while leading the Redhawks with five assists and four steals.

Destiny Thompson enjoyed the best outing of her young collegiate career as the GCU freshman earned a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 17 boards. Alliyah Berger poured in a team-best 21 points, shooting 50% (9-for-18) from the floor while Jada Atchison compiled 11 points and gathered team highs in assists (four) and steals (three) for the Lions.

Georgian Court takes to the road Tuesday evening with a 6:00 p.m. showdown vs. CACC divisional rival, Philadelphia University.
