Nyack, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University men's basketball squad traveled to Nyack College Wednesday evening, dropping a 71-63 decision to the host-Warriors in Central AtlanticCollegiate Conference (CACC) play. 

As a result, the Lions slide to 2-12 (1-6 CACC) on the campaign while Nyack inches closer to .500 overall with a 5-7 mark (3-3 CACC).

The visitors started strong by developing an 8-2 lead 4:44 into the first half. The Warriors marched to a 9-8 advantage at 12:57, courtesy of a 7-0 charge. The teams would continue to volley the lead until a Michael Pierre three-pointer provided the Lions with a 23-18 surplus with 7:10 to go before the break.

A 10-5 spurt by the Warriors knotted the contest at 28-all with 3:05 remaining before Nyack closed the stanza with a slim 33-31 lead heading into intermission.

Georgian Court never regained the advantage in the second half, coming only as close as a 55-55 stalemate with 4:56 remaining in regulation.The Warriors slammed the door on the conference win with a 16-8 run to close out the affair.

Frank Martin (Sr.-Miami, Fla.) highlighted the Nyack offense with his double-double contribution of 11 points and 14 rebounds. Ga'Briel Chandler (Jr.-Atlantic City, N.J.) added 12 points, which included a perfect evening of shooting by going 2-for-2 from the floor and 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Imran Ritchie (So.-Uniondale, N.Y.) matched Martin in the scoring column with 11 points of his own.

GCU's Nikola Vujovic topped all scorers with his 18 points in 29 minutes off the Lions' bench. Juwuan Carter followed with 15 points for the road team.

The Lions now look ahead to Saturday afternoon when GCU heads back to the Empire State for another CACC showdown, this time at Dominican College.
