Orangeburg, N.Y.- Coming off Wednesday's epic road victory at Nyack College, the Georgian Court University women's squad was unable to make it two straight victories away from the Wellness Center as the Lions dropped a 68-56 CACC contest Saturday afternoon at Dominican College.
With the setback, the Lions see their record fall to 4-11 (2-6 CACC) while the Lady Chargers move to 9-7 (5-2 CACC) on the year.
It turned out to be a tale of two halves for GCU as the visitors, after winning the first two quarters by a combined score of 38-31, were only able to must 18 total points in the second half en route to the inter-divisional defeat.
Lisa Bouffard (Jr.-Wallkill, N.Y.) shined for Dominican with her team-leading 21 points and three blocks, to go along with seven rebounds.
Rebecca Rabeiro (So.-Midland Park, N.J.) added 17 points and a game-best six assists and three steals for the Lady Chargers while
Deja Gabbidon (Sr.-Teaneck, N.J.) added 12 points, nine boards and three asssists.
Alliyah Berger collected her third straight outing with 20+ points (6th overall) as the star shooter tallied 23 points for the Lions, leading all scorers in the process. Berger also paced GCU on the glass with her nine rebounds.
Jaelyn Tweedy followed with 12 points on the day while
Destiny Thompson contributed 11 of her own.
Georgian Court next welcomes Felician University to "The Well" Tuesday evening (6:00 p.m.) for another key conference contest.
