Philadelphia, Pa.- The Georgian Court University men's basketball squad still seeks its first taste of triumph as the Lions dropped its third straight contest to start the season Wednesday evening, a 72-62 setback at Chestnut Hill College in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener for both teams.
The Griffins (1-2, 1-0 CACC) led from start to finish, building a game-high 17-point lead on two separate occasions in the second half.
Nikola Vujovic paced the Lions with his team-best 15 points, shooting 7-for-8 from the floor.
Keith Hughes and
Mike Pierre followed with 12 points apiece while Hughes topped GCU around the glass with his six rebounds.
Georgian Court now journeys south to North Carolina where the Lions will participate in the University of Mount Olive's 51st Annual Pickle Classic. GCU will take on the host-Trojans Friday night at 7:30 p.m. before concluding the dill double-bill vs. Barton College Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
