Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University women's basketball squad, looking to snap its slide, suffered a 77-64 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) divisional setback to visiting Chestnut Hill College Wednesday evening in the GCU Wellness Center Arena.

The Griffins, winners of three straight, improve to 9-11 (7-6 CACC) while the Lions slip to 5-17 (3-11 CACC).

The Lions scored the initial three points of the affair before Chestnut Hill went on to outscore the home team, 19-15, over the remainder of the first quarter. An Alliyah Berger jumper put GCU ahead, 20-19, in the opening minute of the second stanza, but the Griffins would again proceed to control the scoreboard with a 19-13 run heading into intermission.

Owning a 38-33 lead coming out of the locker room, Chestnut Hill would never trail in the second half, building a game-high surplus of 15 points (77-62) with 43 ticks remaining in regulation.

Lauren Milligan (Jr.-South Hampton, England) proved to be a thorn in the Lions' paw with her game-high 21 points and 18 boards. Jaeda Wildgoose (Fr.-Somerset, N.J.) fell just short of a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds while Caity Kuhnen (Jr.-Binghamton, N.Y.) added 17 points in 40 minutes of action. Mary Trossi (Fr.-Somerset, N.J.) collected 12 points and a team-best five helpers.

Jada Atchison authored her sixth outing of the season with 20 or more points, netting 20 for GCU in the losing effort. Berger totaled 11 points, nine boards, and four rejections while Jess Placher dropped in 10 and dished six assists. Jaelyn Tweedy also reached double-digits with her 10 points.

GCU next travels to Bloomfield College this Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. matinee vs. the Bears.
