Philadelphia, Pa.- The Georgian Court University women's basketball squad headed to Holy Family University Tuesday evening for its final road game of the 2015-16 campaign as the Lions succumbed to the host-Tigers, 66-44, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) competition.
HFU, winners of three straight, clinched a postseason berth with the victory and improve to 18-6 (13-2 CACC). GCU, in an affair that was far from jocund, drops its eighth straight, slipping to 5-19 (3-13 CACC) on the year.
Jill Conroy (Jr.-Brooklyn, N.Y.) paced the Tigers' offense with her 14 points, five assists, and four steals.
Kylie Giedemann (So.-Turnersville, N.J.) added 11 points while teammate
Erin Fenningham (Sr.-Philadelphia, Pa.) registered a double-double consisting of 10 points and 10 boards.
Kasey Woetzel (Sr.-Wyckoff, N.J.) owned the glass for HFU with a game-best 11 rebounds.
As for the Lions,
Alliyah Berger topped all scorers with 19 points, including a game-high three treys.
Jada Atchison added 10 points of her own while Berger and
Destiny Thompson controlled the boards for GCU with eight rebounds apiece.
Georgian Court heads back to the Wellness Center this Saturday afternoon with a 1:00 p.m. home contest vs. Concordia College. The Lions will host its annual Play 4 Kay breast cancer awareness game. All attendees are invited to wear pink.
