Sparkill, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer squad made it six straight victories Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference road contest at St. Thomas Aquinas College, blanking the Spartans by a 3-0 margin.
The Lions boost their record to 6-2 overall while STAC sinks to 3-7 on the year.
The scoring kicked off at 21:18 when
Morgan LaDuca, for the second consecutive contest, netted a free kick from long distance. The junior dynamo defender blasted a shot from over 40 yards out that sizzled under the cross bar to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Georgian Court would add another layer to its lead early in the second half (48:23) as
Tayler Bramley, after a scramble initiated by a corner kick, headed in her second tally of the season.
Michaella Paradiso received the assist on the play.
The third and final score of the contest came courtesy of a cheeky back heel feed from
Morgan Peacock at 51:17, which
Lauren Mendez popped in for her second of the year.Â
GCU outshot the home team by a margin of 13-8 in the win.
Natalie Axelsson improved her mark to 6-2 in the Lions' net, collecting four saves in the complete game.
Thursday will be Georgian Court's next date of competition as the Lions host The Lincoln University at 2:00 p.m.
