NCAA SELECTION SHOW REPLAY
Indianapolis, Ind. - Georgian Court University, having reached the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship for the first time since 2010, will take on #3-seed Southern New Hampshire University (14-2-5) in the first round of the East Region bracket this Friday at 1:00 p.m., hosted by Mercy College (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.).
The Lions (16-3-2) defeated Wilmington University in Sunday's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship game, securing #6-seed GCU the conference's automatic qualifier to the Big Dance. The Penmen of SNHU  punched its ticket Sunday after defeating Franklin Pierce University, 2-1, to capture its second Northeast-10 title.
The winner of the SNHU/GCU match will meet second-seeded Mercy (16-3-0) on Sunday, Nov. 12 (12 p.m.). The victor from that match will head to the highest remaining seed from the East Region to battle either top-seeded Adelphi University, fourth-seeded LIU Post or the No. 5 seed, Franklin Pierce University, which all battle it out at Adelphi's Motamed Field for the right to play in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 17.
The quarterfinal round will take place at the same sites as the third round Nov. 19, while the semifinals and final will be played Nov. 30 and Dec. 2 at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo., hosted by Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, Rockhurst University and the Kansas City Sports Commission.
Georgian Court will be making its third-ever appearance  in the NCAA Tournament and first in seven years. The Lions fell to The College of Saint Rose, 2-0, in the first round of the 2008 Tournament and dropped a 3-0 decision to American International College in 2010.
