Box Score Sparkill, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University men's basketball took to the road Saturday afternoon for a non-conference contest at St. Thomas Aquinas College. The host-Spartans made easy work of the Lions, 105-75, to improve to 22-5 on the year.
STAC, which has spent time in the national rankings this season, outscored GCU by a 54-42 margin in the first half, followed by a 51-33 advantage in the second stanza. The Lions shot a very-respectable 51.2% (22-43) as a team from the floor, but the Spartans were even hotter, netting a sizzling 42 of 70 (60.0%).
Six STAC players achieved double-digits in the scoring column, led by
Aaron Cust's (Sr.-Uniondale, N.Y.) 23 points.
Chaz Watler (Sr.-Brooklyn, N.Y.) followed with a 20-point showing, which included the sinking of five three-pointers.Â
Georgian Court's
Nikola Vujovic enjoyed his finest outing this season as the sizzling sophomore contributed a game-high 26 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field.Â
Caleb Bowser registered 13 points while
Tony Ellington, Jr. netted 12 of his own.
The Lions will next travel to Holy Family University this Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. to close out the 2016-17 campaign.
