Box Score Jersey City, N.J. - Georgian Court University women's soccer, making its 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference spring debut, suffered a 3-0 shutout at Nyack College in a Wednesday contest played at Jersey City's Lincoln Park.
After playing to a scoreless stalemate in the first half, the host-Warriors poured in a trio of second-stanza tallies to register their first win of the season (1-0-1, 1-0-1 CACC). GCU dips to 0-1 (0-1 CACC) with the setback.
Anna Lopez (Jr.-Punta Cana, Dominican Republic) (57:52),
Choleanne Hails (Fr.-Manila, Philippines) (73:04), and
Shanice Rapp (Jr.-Untergrombach, Germany) (77:00) accounted for the Nyack scoring. The victors dominated the shots column with a 17-4 surplus (14-3 SOG).
Alyssa Dias (0-1) did all she could to keep the Lions in the contest, registering eight saves in the complete-game effort.
Lea Zehringer (Jr.-Traben-Trarbach, Germany), playing the entire second half (one save), earned the win in net for Nyack.
The loss snaps a seven-game winning streak against Nyack with the Warriors last topping GCU back on Oct. 8, 2011 (5-1).
