Galloway, N.J.- Competing for the first time since May, 9, 2019, the Georgian Court Men's Outdoor Track & Field squad showed virtually zero rust from the lay-off as the Lions recorded four first-place finishes, including a new team record in the Triple Jump by
Jeshurun Devero, at Friday's Stockton University Invite.
"This meet was a mixture of excitement and adrenaline, mixed with reflection and pure enjoyment for the sport," stated head coachÂ
Mike Murawski. "Our goal for the meet was to simply have fun and appreciate the opportunity to compete again. We achieved that goal and had some pretty good performances in the meantime."
Devero recorded a first-place leap of 14.60 meters in the Triple Jump, falling just nine centimeters short of the national qualifying mark. His effort erased the team mark he previously recorded (14.32m) back on April 6, 2019 in the Millersville University Metrics.
Chukwuebizie Anumadi paced the competition in the 1,500m Run with his time of 4:05.00, narrowly edging teammate,
Xavier Seals (4:05.46) for the top spot.
