Lakewood, N.J. - Head coach
Dino Raso announced today that
Robbie Tapp of Beachwood, N.J. will be joining the Georgian Court University men's soccer program this fall as the latest member of the squad's Class of 2025.
"Robbie will be an excellent addition to our back line," stated Coach Raso. "He is another local player who is very skilled at his position and possesses the character traits of a GCU Lion! We expect Robbie to work hard on the field and in the classroom ... we are excited that he will be sporting the blue and gold!"
A 5'11", 152-lb. defender and team captain at Toms River High School South, Tapp has not only competed in soccer for the Indians, but also swimming, volleyball, and indoor and outdoor track & field. A star in the classroom as well, the senior has achieved high honor roll status at TRS.
Tapp has become very familiar with Georgian Court University, both the campus and the soccer program, as his older brother, Michael ('19) was a member of the Lions' CACC championship squad in 2016.
Looking to work in law enforcement or play soccer professionally, Robbie said this about joining the Lions: "I want to attend Georgian Court because I developed a great interest in the University from seeing my brother's experience there. I wanted the same and after looking more into it, I realized what I could achieve at GCU."
