LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Oct. 15, 2022) - Georgian Court Cross Country got in one final race of the regular season. The men and women competed at the Rowen Border Battle in Logan Township, N.J. The men finished in third place as a team while the women had just four finish and did not qualify for team scoring.
The Lion men top-three of
Kyle Spector,
Alec Valle and
Xavier Seals ran together and finished just eight seconds apart. Spector took 17th place running the 8K race in 27:13.6. Valle was right behind in 18th and crossed in 27:14.5 while Seals finished 22nd in 27:21.2. William Spector and
Riley Keffer rounded out GCU's scoring. Spector was 36th overall in 28:14.4 and Keffer ran 28:37.4 for 48th place.Â
Joseph Jamolawicz (29:28.9, 74th place) and
Thomas Rosky (29:43.4, 85th place) completed the top seven.
Charli Dominguez was a place behind Rosky in 86th running 29:44.6.
The Lions totaled 85 points in their third place finished and were the top Division II team in the field. RPI was the team champion with a perfect score of 15. Jordan Crist was the individual champion running 26:01.5.Â
For the women,
Amirah Beasley finished in the top-30 with a 29th place finish. She completed the 6K course in 26:36.5. Not far behind was
Brenna Sullivan. She was 11 seconds behind Beasley running 26:47.9 for 35th place. The final two finishers for GCU were Madaline Jones and
Selma Cazimoska. Jones placed 50th overall in 27:38.4 and Cazimoska ran 28:14.6 for 60th place.Â
RPI took home the team championship with 28 points. Alexandra Battaglia of SUNY Fredonia was the individual winner running 23:55.6.Â
Next up for the Lions is the CACC Championship. They'll be back in Philadelphia at Belmont Plateau Sunday, Oct. 30.Â
