LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Oct. 19, 2024) - Georgian Court Cross Country got to show their speed in the final race before the 2024 CACC Conference Championships. On a flat and fast course, the Lions raced and had another successful afternoon.
For the men, they finished in seventh place among 21 total teams. They were the top Division II team to finish in the meet.
Nolan Kus ran to another top-10 finish with his time of 26:21.8 putting him right at 10th overall.
Ryan Pettrow was just three spots back running 26:35.3 which is a new 8K personal best for Pettrow and moves him to sixth all-time in team history.
Joe Jamolawicz followed in 65th place running 28:34.6.
Zachary Spoonire was just inside the top-100 in 95th place running 29:38.2 which is a new PR for the freshman.
Freshmen
Matthew Schaub and
Luke McCormick finished off the scoring for the Lions. Schaub ran 29:56.8 for 105th place and McCormick was in 108th place running 30:01.3.Â
The Lions women had a 10th place team finish. They were led again by
Amirah Beasley in 20th place. She completed the 6K course in 25:34.7 which is a season-best.
Madalin Jones took 74th place in 29:26.9.
Samantha Lonseth,
Jurnee Tuttle and
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt all were within 10 places of each other. Lonseth finished in 90th place running 31:13.5 which is a personal-best at this distance. Tuttle took 94th place in 32:15.7 and Hohenshilt finished 100th running 33:20.1.Â
Johns Hopkins was the team winner on the men's side with a score of 44. Anas Bensaoud of the Hub City Track Club was the individual champion running 25:42.3. For the women, Johns Hopkins also prevailed with a perfect score of 15. Kayla Ritzman's time of 23:26.3 was tops in the field.
Georgian Court races next week at the CACC Championships. Those are held Sunday, Oct. 27 at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.Â
